Nothing Wrong With Dreaming

Story Behind The Song

My friend Elin invited me to join her, her son Dylan, and her Mom to a Press Promotional Weekend in Disneyland. Every night they would come in and leave a small gift and chocolates on our pillows which we would find when we got back to our rooms. One night a post card accompanied the chocolates with a poem that said, "If you believe, all the dreams in your heart can come true" I kept this card for years, and knew there was a song that was going to come from it...One day I shared this experience with Jimmy Muffin, a friend who I co write with some times..he felt the same way I did about the song idea, together that afternoon we wrote Nothing Wrong With Dreaming.

Song Description

The song chronicles a girls life from the age of 6 through her teen years up to when she is Mother herself...and all the dreams that she had along the way... "Laughter is timeless. Imagination has no age. And dreams are forever." Walt Disney

Lyrics

Nothing Wrong With Dreaming

Little girl six years old, with dreams larger than life
She sees a little red bike with a basket and a bell
Now she rides in her dreams every night
She asks her daddy when she wakes about this bike that could fly
He smiles at her with love in his eyes

He says, There's Nothing Wrong With Dreaming
Cause dreams come from the heart of you
Just keep on believing
Cause once they're gone, you loose a part of you
If you hold on dreams do come true

Six years old, now sixteen that old bike is covered with rust
Her dreams turn to the boy next door who is changing some old spark plugs
Mamma one little smile that boy gets so shy
I dream of the day he'll look in my eyes

And she says, There's Nothing Wrong With Dreaming
Cause dreams come from the heart of you
Just keep on believing
Cause once they're gone, you loose a part of you
If you hold on dreams do come true

So, make a wish on falling star
To keep your dreams alive if you start to feel a dreamer is all you are

Sixteen, now thirty six while sharing some old photographs
Her son says who's that kid on that cool red bike
She just starts to laugh
That was my very first dream that ever came true
Till your Daddy looked in my eyes and we said I do
But my very favorite dream was holding you

You know that there's Nothing Wrong With Dreaming
Dreams come from the heart of you
Just keep on believing
Cause once they're gone, you loose a part of you
If you hold on, if you hold on dreams do come true
