Story Behind The Song
This is a song I wrote when I was feeling completely trapped in a life I didn't really want, but felt I had to have. I was stuck in a job that I hated, but needed, and in a position of doing what I had to instead of what I loved to. I dreamed all the time of breaking out and chasing my dream of a music career, but felt trapped. This is a song about that feeling of being penned up, and needing to break out and chase my dreams.

Lyrics
Been too long inside this cage
Where my fears all rearrange, and comfort sets in
But I have dreams of broken glass
Shattered steel, and splintered slats
And open ceiling
Open the door, step outside,
and the light hurts my eyes
The future is not what it used to be,
And time marches on ever steadily,
And home is no place for a boy like me.
So I'm off now to capture the wind.
Chasing dreams, elusive pets,
While the chains are laid to rest
Uncertain foreground
Still adjusting to the light,
But discomforts worth the sight
Of miles around me
Feet hit the floor, cover ground,
And never turn around
The future is not what it used to be,
And time marches on ever steadily,
And home is no place for a boy like me.
So I'm off now to capture the wind.
Feet hit the floor, cover ground,
And never turn around
