Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song a few years after moving to Northern Michigan. I was moved so much by the area, and the summertime, and the friends we had found, and the life we had made. So I wrote this as a bit of a love song to Michigan and our life here.
Song Description
This is a happy, chill, groovy backbeat folk-rock song with reggae influences, and background singer harmonies. This is meant to feel like a summer night at a bonfire or on a boat with your best friends.

Lyrics
I love the smell of a Michigan evening,
I love the sight of my baby in blue jeans
I love the sound of my friends laughing out loud
I love the way the moonlight moves me
I love the way the sweet breeze soothes me
I've got everything I need, and I'm alright
Im alright, I'm alright
The sun is down, the moon is high
My troubles are out of sight
I'm alright, I'm alright,
Got my love by my side tonight
And I'm alright
I love the still of the water at midnight
wrapping my arms round my girl in the firelight
I love the way the moon looks reflected off the bay
Holding hands through the summer season
All together, no particular reason,
So hand me my guitar, man, I'm gonna play
Im alright, I'm alright
The sun is down, the moon is high
My troubles are out of sight
I'm alright, I'm alright,
Got my love by my side tonight
And I'm alright
I'm alright, I'm alright
Im alright, I'm alright
The sun is down, the moon is high
My troubles are out of sight
I'm alright, I'm alright,
Got my love by my side tonight
And I'm alright
