Story Behind The Song
This song is very personal in nature and deals with the issues of Depression and Anxiety, and those of us who love people who deal with those issues. It follows 2 people, a man and woman, who obviously have a deep relationship. She has struggled with self love, and self-loathing, and a dark past that she just doesn't talk about. The man loves her and has walked with her through her struggles for years. This is a picture of their relationship from his perspective, watching her struggle. You become privy to his learnings about her situation and her thinking and how she reacts to her situation. You get the sense that she has tried many things to try to help herself, but nothing has helped. She is a woman of faith, and leans heavily on it but has become tired. It is obvious that she is finally reaching out for qualified help, and they both hope that it will make a difference. This is a song about reaching out for help, and holding on to love, faith, and good prescription drugs, and we hope that it will fight the stigma that faith is the only cure for depression. Sometimes it's nothing but the blood, AND good prescription drugs.

Lyrics
Well I've known her since she was 16 and I was 20
There aint nothing new about her anyone could tell me
But there's a place she goes, where nobody knows
When she can't quite shake her past
She starts thinking about things that I don't understand
And I know better than to ask
'Cause some days she's lost in the doubt
And the fear and the pain
And there's no truth in her laugh
But she's got a song in her soul and a light in her eyes
That the darkness can't hold back
She holds tight to our love,
Tighter still to her faith
And I believe her when she says she'll make it
With the good Lords help
And the pills that she's been taking
She says she's lucky she found me
'cause I don't mind her crazy
She's got a smile that she only smiles
When she says she loves me
But all the love in the world can't save a girl
From the voices in her head
When they tell her she's nothing
And don't stand a chance
Against the demons that want her dead
And some days she's lost in the doubt
And the fear and the pain
And there's no truth in her laugh
But she's got a song in her soul and a light in her eyes
That the darkness can't hold back
She holds tight to our love,
Tighter still to her faith
And I believe her when she says she'll make it
With the good Lords help
And the pills that she's been taking
And it's like the clouds roll in
And I watch her colors fading
And her mood goes darker
Than the blue her toes are painted
Aint a damn thing I can do
'Cause I know I'm just a man
Except hold her tight, stand by her side,
And out my faith in the one who can.
'Cause some days she's lost in the doubt
And the fear and the pain
And there's no truth in her laugh
But she's got a song in her soul and a light in her eyes
That the darkness can't hold back
She holds tight to our love,
Tighter still to her faith
And I believe her when she says she'll make it
With the good Lords help
And the pills that she's been taking
With the good Lords help
And the pills that she's been taking
