Story Behind The Song
In 2007, a coalition of local Hillsboro, Oregon artists, small businesses, John Denver fans, and proponents of the green energy revoution joined forces to organize an eco fair and john denver tribute concert to be held at the civic center. As one of the concert organizers and scheduled performers, I chose to commemorate the occasion by writing a song. LIVING GREEN was the result.

Lyrics
Sometimes if you dig a little deeper in the well..
Reveal the roots of understanding..
Find the truth that's buried with the soldiers who fell
Fighting for our petroleum candy.
We could build a better world with energy that's clean,
So I'm writing all the letters I can.
If wind and solar energy can power my home,
Men who fight for gasoline might see that it's wrong and start livin' green
People afraid of everything..
It's hard to find a glimmer of hope.
But this old earth has been revolving
Five billion years or so..and
when you get down to it,
we've no other place to go,
So start livin' green
Start doin' away with wastefulness.
There's nothing wrong in wearin' hand-me-downs.
Been taking the earth for granted, all the fumes we have released...
Recreating global climate, Now, the polar bears can't eat
Start livin' green
Livin' green...
with oil costing lives...
With the big meltdown...
It's wise...to start livin' green, start livin' green.
Practice peace and conservation,
We might turn this thing around.
There is energy all around us,
Don't desecrate the ground,
Stop! burning fossil relics!
Here's the challenge we must meet -
Automobiles and industries
are turning up the heat.
Start livin' green
Start livin' green...
Start livin' green...
