Story Behind The Song
This has been 'in the works' for 10 years or more, we finally came up with a closing verse for it this year. Inspired by one of the legends of Lugh the Irish hero.
Song Description
A song inspired by Lugh, the legendary Irish hero, who was repeatedly denied entrance to a castle as he offered his expertise at one profession after another - until he remarked that he was a master of all professions. This is translated to a "forest realm" in this interpretation.

Lyrics
Land of the Dancing Trees
©2104 Emerald Rose
Verse
In the [Am]land of the [C]dancing [G]trees
The [Am]oaks delved [C]deeply and [G]danced in the [D]breeze
The [Am]great sylvan [C]gods rose [G]tall
And [Am]with every [C]nation they [G]were at [D]peace
[C]Here came the [G]hero [Am]Lugh
He [Am]heard in his [C]heart the [G]majesty's [Am]call
And [C]fain would he [G]dance their [Am]dance
And [Am]spend all his [C]days in the [G]forested [Am]hall
"And [C]how shall a [G]hero be [Am]welcome, in the [C]land of the [G]dancing [D]trees?"
Verse
"Oh [Am]have you the [C]need of a [G]cobbler
To [Am]make fine [C]shoes for your [G]deep-rooted [D]feet
For [Am]I have the [C]skills bending [G]leather
And [Am]great's my [C]renown for the [G]stichin' of [D]seams"
No, [C]we have no [G]need of your [Am]shoes lad
The [Am]bracken and [C]soil keep our [G]roots safe and [Am]warm
[C]Better you [G]cobble your [Am]own shoes
[C]So you may [G]walk in the [C]thorns without [Am]harm
"Then [C]how may a [G]hero be [Am]welcome, in the [C]land of the [G]dancing [D]trees?"
Verse
"Then have you the need for a baker
To bake fine breads and your table prepare
For I know the grist and the risin'
I'll bake you a loaf that is lighter than air"
No, we have no need for your baking
For sunlight and sky's all the fare that we need
But take of our seeds and our fruits now
And use them to nourish your own bodies needs
"Then how may a hero be welcome, in the land of the dancing trees?"
Verse
"Perhaps you have need for a warrior
To drive off your foes and your border secure
For I know the hammer and war blade
I'll fight for your nation with hand swift and sure"
No, we have no need for your fighting
For we have no treasure that we would not share
Go, then, and suffer your own wars
For peace is our kingdom and we shall live there
"Then how may a hero be welcome, in the land of the dancing trees?"
Verse
"But know you the Man of all Seasons
Who masters all skills for the service of life
The man who is every profession
So he may love every facet of life?"
Yes, we know the Man of all Seasons
A king to your people and friend to the land
We welcome you home to your own heart
So all of your kind will one day understand
"For thus may a hero be welcome, in the land of the dancing trees."
