Story Behind The Song
Larry's concept - Part of a series of songs about the realm of Faerie, I wanted to write a more ominous song about the legends of the Wild Hunt. The band liked it and picked this up into an arrangement that's both spooky and rocking.
Song Description
On a winter's night, legends have it that the spirits of the ancient warriors rise up and go a-hunting with horses and hounds - the Wild Hunt. It can be a perilous time to travel.

The Wild Hunt
©2014 Larry Morris/Emerald Rose
[B]Lock the doors and [Am]bar the gates
[Em]Crack your shutters [Bm]for a glance
But [Am]keep your talisman [Em]at hand
The [G]Wild Hunt rides [D]tonight
[B]Whirling leaves [Am]around the cairn
[Em]The horn will sound, the [Bm]Hunt begins
[Am]The Spectre's howl will [Em]freeze your heart
The [G]Wild Hunt rides [D]tonight
Chorus
[Em]See us ride on the [Bm]whirling winds
Called [G]back from death we've [Bm]shed our skins
To [Am]hunt the souls of [Em]winter once [B]again
[Em]Lightning cracks and [Bm]ghost hounds bay
[G]None shall bar the [D]Huntsman's way
[Am]Give the dead their [Bm]due or be the [Em]prey
Verse
Fair and terrible the host
That rides across the dusky moor
Heroes of a distant age
The Wild Hunt rides tonight
Peasant caught upon the road
Your life shall take a turn tonight
Will you perish, will you rule?
The Wild Hunt rides tonight
Chorus
Bridge
[G]Honor to the [D]Huntsman
[G]Honor to the [D]Host
[G]Honor to the [D]Mystery
That [G}]fills the sky with [A]ghosts upon this wintry [Em]night
