We had the title for a few years but couldnt figure out what to do with it until, I came up with the idea of making it a twist on the title.

Lyrics
HE JUST LIED AND WENT TO HEAVEN
(Eric Stone and Kenny Royster)
(Capo 2nd fret)
D
Friday night at Ruby Tuesday, looking for her blind date
Joe should be at the bar in a blue shirt but he was running a little late
G D G
She said, "Excuse me, are you Joe?" but before he could tell her no
D
She said, "So nice to meet you, are you ready for the movie?"
A
He thought to himself, she thinks I'm someone else but went ahead and said, "Lets go!"
CHORUS:
G D A D
He just lied and went to Heaven but what's the harm in a little white lie?
G D A
Even though his name is Kevin, he'll be Joe for the rest of the night
G A D
Living it up with the girl of his dreams
G A D
Knowing that he's gonna have to come clean
G A Bm
But right now that'll have to wait
G A D
Oh, what's in a name anyway?
D
Junior Mints and Coca-Cola, in the last row he got his first kiss
Midnight coffee in an all night diner, 10 minutes late and look what Joe missed
G D G
A perfect night with an angel, that started with a little sin
D
When she finds out his real name, she'll probably kill him
A
But he's had so much fun, when it's all said and done, he'd do it all over again
REPEAT CHORUS
BRIDGE
G D E A
Oh, he's having such a good time, he might be Joe for the rest of his life
REPEAT CHORUS
