Story Behind The Song
Experimenting with an alternate guitar tuning opened a new avenue to song writing for me. This is a song I never would have written in standard tuning, but it came together quickly as I worked with something different.
Song Description
This song is a retrospective look at life far away from the bustle of modern life. It is about finding contentment in the things that really matter--the peace and security of home and the love of a good woman to share it with.

Lyrics
I have let cool the passion with which poor men fight
To be far away, far away, far away home
Far away from the cold fields where they lose their lives
I am safely and far away home
I have let go the struggles which cause only strife
To be far away, far away, far away home
I have fought the temptations which rule a man's life
I am glad to be far away home
Chorus
For it is here on these green fields where I find my rest
And the love of sweet Becky asleep on my breast
And the sun bathing hillside which now I oft roam
Keeps me well and remembering I'm far away home
I've suppressed the ambitions which cloud young men's site
And come far away, far away far away home
I have passed up the glory I would have if I might
I'm content to be far away home
