Story Behind The Song
I had the hook for a while. One of my cowriters, Kevin and I were meeting Keith, another cowriter at the NSAI office to write. We sat around for almost 2 hours trying to find something we could grab on to. I finally dug up this hook which I had for a while and that was that. We actually took almost 3 years and another writer to get what we wanted.
Song Description
Trying to capture the feelings sometimes felt after the lost of a true love, how everything in your life changes, at least for a while and you swear you just can't go on.

Lyrics
Dry Rain
Brehmer, Larsen, VanPay, VanVooren
2007/2008
Cool water drenched our feet
We splashed every puddle on that street
It came down even harder with the wind
We threw back our heads and drank it in
Baby the world was our own
So alive and soaked to the bone
You know it poured again today
But without you it's a dry rain
I don't feel, don't taste
Don't hear a song the way I did with you
Not one thought, not one place
Oh nothing I do fills me up the same
Babe I'm standing here
With my arms held out
In the middle of a dry rain
I came because you asked
But I sat clear in the back
Caught your eye and forced a smile
As you came floatin' down the aisle
God it ripped me right in two
When you held his hand and said I do
When the rice came down that day
It hit me like dry rain
Don't know how long it's gonna hurt
But I swear you'll never hear these words
