Story Behind The Song
There's really no story or inspiration other than having experienced loneliness and not being able to be with the one I loved.
Song Description
Hourglass of Dreams - is about relationships and not having the time to enjoy them. Based around an image that says "we'll turn it over once or twice, so you'll have more time to spend with me" says it all. But mix that with a vision of sandy beaches being the backdrop adds a dream like image of two people running hand in hand in the sand within their very own Hourglass.

Lyrics
Hourglass Of Dreams
(c)2004 JJ Williams/Loft Music
Often times I sit at home, feeling so alone,
How many nights I want to call you, on the telephone.
You are there, and I am here, though your spirit still remains,
I want to tell you that my love, is never gonna change.
We'll be friends forever in, our Hour Glass of Dreams,
It's only there that we can share our moments by the sea.
Hold my hand, we'll walk the sands, in my Hour Glass of Dre--ams,
We'll turn it over, once or twice, so you'll have more time, to spend with me.
Once again, I'm saddened, and I'm feeling so de - pressed
I need a hand in un-der-stand-ing why my life's a mess.
If only there, were some place where, I could turn my life around,
I'd start all over, with a dream, that wouldn't let me down.
Heaven help the man in me, to find the sands of time,
And grain by grain, I'll fill the glass, and hope to someday make you mine.
Hold my hand, we'll walk the sand, in the Hour Glass of Dreams,
We'll turn it over once or twice, We'll turn it over once or twice,
We'll turn it over once or twice, We'll turn it over once or twice,
We'll turn it over once or twice,
So you'll have more time, to spend with me.
