Story Behind The Song
At that moment when we are all alone with our thoughts, our regrets, our grief and our longing, we can feel utterly empty and cold. This song is for those episodes of aching but offers hope that we can find warmth again when we decide to change our thoughts about the situation.
Song Description
I've had times in my life when I was immersed in sorrow and longing, regret and depsair. At a point in my life I learned that I could choose to be happy despite my circumstances and so at the end of the song there is the acknowledgment that I can and will pull out of it, but first I must shed all the tears that need to be shed. Paul Nowell offers mournful trombone and Christoph Bull adds to the mood with soulful piano playing.

Lyrics
So Cold
Put my book of poems back on the shelf
return my finest wine back to the cellar
don't need a candle to light up this empty room
I'll just sit in the darkness
Like I'm embalmed in a toom
Chorus
You ruined the moonlight
drove the passion out of the night
stole the magic from my sight
and left me cold
left me so cold
left me so cold
left me so cold
You said true love is like wine
and it has to wait
We must never rush
the hand of fate
and you knew that I loved you
and hung on your every word
and I waited
yes, I waited
Oh, I waited
so long
until the fire flickered
and died
until the tear trickled
and dried
You ruined the moonlight
so cold
and left me cold
left me so cold
so cold
And I know there's an ending to this storm
just as soon as I choose to get warm
but for now I feel cold
I feel so cold
I feel so cold
I feel so cold
You can't really ruin the moonlight
or drive the passion out of the night
or steal the magic from my sight
or leave me cold
leave me so cold
leave me so cold
leave me so cold
Until the fire flickered and died
until the tear trickled and dried
cold, cold, cold
