The song is written like a love letter to someone who has gone away, reaffirming the author's feelings for them, and reminding them that should they wish to come back to the author, they will be greeted with open arms. The vocals are delivered through a telephone, to further invoke this idea of talking to someone who is far away. The first verse asks if they feel the same as the author. The second verse ends with the author wondering if he's waiting around for nothing. The instrumental is chilled, with a lo-fi aesthetic, and washy cymbals. The sound of laughter can be heard at times throughout, to invoke this idea of thinking about happy memories.
