Story Behind The Song

This song was inspired by Scriptural accounts of the blind man and the woman "with an issue of blood", their contact with the Savior, and the healing that was performed. More amazing than the healing itself was their actually seeing the face of God in all His glory. The song carrys over to become first person for the Christian who dies and goes to heaven and who also sees the face of Jesus.

VS 1 A blind man was begging on the street one day
He was told that the Savior would be passing his way.
So he called out to Jesus "Will you heal my blinded eyes?"
He heard Jesus say, "Take courage, Arise!

CH Then he saw the face of Jesus, He saw the face of God.
He saw the Lord in all His glory. In His presence he was awed.

Then He heard the Savior calling, "Come to me my blessed one."
Oh he saw the face of Jesus and the beauty of God's Son.

VS 2 A woman with a sickness and was cast away--
She heard that the Savior would be passing her way.
So she reached out to Jesus; touched the hem of His robe.
Jesus turned to her and said "Your faith has made you whole."
