Story Behind The Song
Bryan had the idea for the lyrics - just a scenario he was playing in his imagination - and was developing them when I played him this piece of music I was working on, and we discovered they fit together.

Lyrics
Long, Long Night------- Cole, Taylor c2005
I get back from work, and holler out hello
I guess it?s just a habit now, I know you?re not home
Another frozen dinner, another too many beers
Going through old photographs and holding back the tears
(chorus)
It?s gonna be a long, long night but I keep telling myself everything?s gonna be all right
I?ve got his box of pictures and some other things you left behind
But I don?t need these memories; I?ve got you burned into my mind
I?m at the bottom of the bottle, at the end of my rope
It?s so hard just holding on, even harder to let go
(chorus)
It?s gonna be a long, long night but I keep telling myself everything?s gonna be all right
(bridge)
My friends say life goes on; I?ve got to find out how
?cause getting over you is really getting to me
and something?s got to give right now
(chorus)
It?s gonna be a long, long night but I keep telling myself everything?s gonna be all right
