Song Unsung

Story Behind The Song

The music was, originally, based off of loops compiled by Byrne Offut in L.A. He sent his idea to us and we translated it to a live band format. He sent shon a book of his poetry. Shon pulled his favorite lines and unravelled a chilling theme.

Song Description

When someone dies, it seems that they are gone. This is from the perspective of the one who is lost. A ghost trying to reach out from the afterlife, but the love is not returned because of lack of vision.

Lyrics

You felt my breath on your back, last night, on the verge of a dream.
A gentle moan escaped your lips. A thousand questions lingered in the morning.
Emotional wreckage scattered for miles. I gather it up, my heart, my always; Unrealized, unrecognized, perched between a song and silence.
You ask me, "Are you out there?"
No, I'm in here.

(Chorus) When the wind blows, you will hear me whisper in your ear.
When the rain falls, you will feel my fingers touch your skin.
When the sun shines, you will feel the warm flush of your face against mine.

The soft caress of butterfly wings on closed hands, hoping they will open.
I've watched you from the clouds, hopelessly embracing a shadow. When I beckoned from the ocean, you sat on the beach. I sailed into your memory.
We were holding hands in a summer, past. Then, it happened. I vanished.
You wonder, "Will we meet again?"
But, we haven't met yet.

(Chorus)
