Song Description
I wrote this song while at Chanute AFB, Rantoul, IL attending technical school in preparation for a remote tour to Korea. I knew that I was going to be away from my family for a year. One day I broke down in tears in contemplating the separation from my family and it dawned on me how important and special a mom and dad are. Sometimes we don't realize the things that really matter in life until we have to do without them.
