Little Miss Perfect

Story Behind The Song

Interestingly, this song is semi-autobiographical. Yup, most of this shi... er, stuff actually happened to me. I couldn't fill in a mood because they didn't have any that described what I really felt when she took off, which was this weird combination of shock, loss, relief and joy all at the same time. They didn't have a mood for that!

Lyrics

Just about a year ago I thought I'd found my dream
She's about the prettiest gal I'd ever seen.
And in addition to good looks
She had some smarts and she cooked
Every type of gourmet cuisine.

I moved her in without delay, she started to redecorate
And all my stuff got reorganized
She hung up paintings, hung up drapes
Threw out all my 8 track tapes
The man cave had no chance to survive.
----------------------------------------------------------
Chorus-
Then Little Miss Perfect left me in distress
She tidied up my home but then she left my life a mess
I couldn't understand it
It just seemed so underhanded
How she took off in the night while I was gone.
----------------------------------------------------------
I'd just flown in from Dallas
Had a visit with my sister, Alice
Had a really great time and some mighty fine barbecue
You can imagine my chagrin, the moment that plane got in
And I got her break up text that we were through.
It read- "Honey when you get home, you're gonna' be there all alone
I done packed up all my things and I'm goin' away
I don't think you're gonna' ever change
From your beer and your football games
I need me a man who'll do just what I say"
----------------------------------------------------------
Chorus-
Little Miss Perfect left me in distress
She tidied up my home but then she left my life a mess
I couldn't face the neighbors
I've been callin' friends for favors
Can you pick me up from the airport, please.

Little Miss Perfect left me in the lurch
To understand her reasons would require some research
But I'm done second guessin'
I suppose I've learned my lesson
There's a reason when it's too good to be true.
