Story Behind The Song
After the recent death of my mother, I was going through old photographs. I came upon one that inspired the song. Within 3 hours the lyrics and music were finished and recorded in 2 takes. The song wrote itself.
Song Description
Wilma, my mom died within 3 months of a peculiar change in behaviour. After she passed, there was unexpected fueding among family members for no reason. I decided to shut down the insanity by simply saying "mom wouldn't have wanted this." to which they all agreed. The High Road then wrote itself.

Lyrics
THE HIGH ROAD
Copyright 2003 Rob Satori & Midnight Rainbow Music, Inc.
I found a photograph of me
A black and white from another time in history
So I unfolded every crease
And as I did came soft wind up to lift my feet
And as the wind turned me around
I took a good long look at the long, long road I traveled on
Swelling peaks and valleys low
And yet the road showed me only one way I could go
May I always travel on...
The High Road, The High Road
And when I'd seen how far I'd come
I had to smile and turn to face the lonesome sun
Is this the moment? Is now my time?
How can I know? Till I put my feet back on the line
And I must walk into the winds
Or lay the future bare for all the good and bad I've done
Words of peace, from fits of anger
Can only show me more of how this journey's end will go
May I always seek and find...
The High Road, The High Road
Instrumental
I raise a prayer in light of this
To know that I am not alone as I gaze at you bliss
A perfect word or gift of love
And the wind picks my off my feet to rise above.
May I always travel on,
May I always seek and find,
May we always walk together on...
The High Road, The High Road, The High Road
