Lyrics
Roses On The Ocean
(c) 2007 Sarah Fridrich, ASCAP
from the starboard of the ships
the men waved goodbye
i never understood
but he had his orders
with red hot lips
of desperate romancing
with girls at their hips
the boys will be dancing
we're gonna cilng to their shoulders
we're gonna cry 'til dawn
this night could be endless
if it weren't for the rising sun
my man put
roses on the ocean
and then he just packed up to leave
i've cried for the last time
i'm gonna put my heart to sleep
the mothers of the land
gave me women's liberation
took the brooms for our hands
and gave us driving ambition
but as hard as they worked
they must have left something out
cause this love sick heart
i can't do nothin' about
my man put
roses on the ocean
and then he just packed up to leave
i've cried for the last time
i'm gonna put my heart to sleep
in the hours that we meet
we try to talk about love
make expressions complete
but there's never words enough
now i'm sittin' at the table
with my hands to my face
he's at the door
and i've got nothin' to say
my man put
roses on the ocean
and then he just packed up to leave
i've cried for the last time
gonna put my heart to sleep
