Story Behind The Song
I wrote "Freedom Rings" a few weeks after 9/11 as a way to cope with the depression and paranoia I felt after the attacks. I lived a stone's throw away from the Pentagon during the attacks, and I feared for my kids at school, my wife at work, my Mom visiting New York that day. The few hundred dollars that I made from the song I donated to the Red Cross 9/11 Disaster Relief Fund in October of the same year. Never forget.
