Song Description
Many people think this song was inspired by Hurricane Katrina, but I actually wrote it over a year before that. The initial inspiration was seeing our local reservoir almost wash away during heavy rains. Combine that with a failed relationship and you get Floodwater. On this song Davis Causey plays one of the best slide guitar solos I have ever heard.

Lyrics
Floodwater (3:13)
Written by Spencer Durham
Well that floodwater is rising baby
You know the rain is falling down
Said that floodwater is rising baby
You know the rain is falling down
Well aint it just my luck
To be living in the lowest part of town
Well I had me a woman
You know that I just loved her so
Yes I had me a woman
You know that I just loved her so
Well I'm crying cause that woman
Said that she don't love me anymore
Well that floodwater is rising baby
You know the rain is falling down
Said that floodwater is rising baby
You know the rain is falling down
Well aint it just my luck
To be living in the lowest part of town
Well I love that woman
And oh I hate to be alone
Said I love that woman
And oh I hate to be alone
But that floodwater came rolling in
And wrecked our happy home
Said that floodwater came rolling in
Floodwater came rolling in
Floodwater came rolling in and
Wrecked our happy home
