Story Behind The Song
The second solo-acoustic song on this record. My vocal coach, Rhetta Butler, thought I should record an old standard that would showcase my vocals. We tried some old tunes by Ray Charles and Percy Sledge, but I really didn't want to do a cover. So I wrote this one and it filled the need perfectly. It's about needing to break up with a girl but not knowing how to tell her. Every guy has been there. I thought the song's final line, "she doesn't know that it's over..." was the perfect way to end this
record.

Lyrics
She Doesn't Know (3:40)
Written by Spencer Durham
She doesn't know that it's over
I don't have the heart to tell her so
But there will be no pretending
It hurts me so to let her go
She doesn't know there's another
But I've been lying
For a long, long time
I couldn't give her any better
She's better off not being mine
CHORUS
Lord get this woman off my mind
Oh it's just like me to not leave love behind
Oh if I never
See her again
It'd be a sin
But it'd be for the better
She doesn't know that I'm guilty
Crying all these shameful tears
But there will be no forgetting
Memories from all those happy years
CHORUS
She doesn't know that it's over
