Nice development of the arrangement. The backing vocals are nice, too.
Really liked the suspended chords - nice amount of reverb to give it an airy feel. At last a tune with some nice backing vocals. Reminds me in vocal tone very much of a little known tune called My Name is Trouble by Keren Ann - check it out!!
Well done, music and arrangement very good. Nice mystical feel about it.
Good work. Ice feel to it.
Wow. Such a beautiful, moving song. Being a pianist myself, I loved listening to the beautiful playing here. And there's just enough bass and drum to give it that light jazz feel. Vocals....spot on! Very strong vocals and everything is mixed properly from my ear's view point. Outstanding job on this.
The Voice with that beautiful almost nasal quality
Nice paino and vocials. Nothing in mine.
An atmospheric song, with a slightly magic piano, and the somber but light steps of a walking doublebass. It's romantic and elegant with a tendentially minimal arrangement which works very well, the voice has a simple and effective deliver, quietly illuminated by a dreamy inner light. It's a nice song that stands out even because of the skillful use of empty spaces in the sound, empty spaces in which the feel of the song, and its melodies, can reverberate their spell.
nice sounding piece - great vocals! Need better piano playing - compositionally fine...
Very nice vox. The song sets a nice visual and mood.
Vibe is very cool, smooth jazz meets standard, vocals have a very distinct sound ... well done, this might make it to the radio.
The piano melody and vocal melody seem to fight for the spotlight in this song. While I understand they should complement each other, each needs it's own space in the song to shine. When the singer is singing, the piano could have leaned a little more on the chord progression and locked up with the bass and drums just filling in the empty space in between the vocal. When the vocal takes a break, the piano can do its thing. Remember, those left hand chords help to make the bed of the song. They support the melody wherever it comes from.
In this case production is everything. I thought the vocal was to low in the mix. The piano was not convincing as an instrument. There were too many empty spaces in the song.
On the other hand, I loved the voice and the mood of the song. I would encourage you to listen to successful jazz artist with a critical ear. Herbi Hancock with Anne Lennox comes to mind when they sing Hush Hush Hush. It doesn't have that classic jazz singer feel that your song has but it provides a template for approaching jazz production
Really nice melody. I like the uncluttered accompaniment and the over-all mood of the song. The little vocal harmony splashes are good, too.
