Story Behind The Song
I am sitting in a cafe in Edinburgh. It is a grey day and the city looks dark and foreboding. I have an argument with a lover on my mind. I order coffee and a muffin and try to make sense of what happened between us. I am still feeling connected to the person and a little pensive and reflective. For a moment I feel someone watching me and my heart leaps because it might be the person i am thinking about but when i look up it is a child watch me through the window. I continue to sit in the cafe.
Song Description
If this song had a visual it would be the famous painting Nighthawks, 1942 by Edward Hopper. If that painting had a sound it would be this song. It is a snapshot into an emotion of a woman having a coffee and reflecting on a relationship enounter that made her emotional. The woman is pensive and the weather outside reflects her mood - She is wanting to feel upbeat and feeling of love but the dark clouds forming outside are reflecting how she feels about the person she is thinking about.

Lyrics
Swordfish Cafe
if a swordfish swam into your heart
would you be starteled
if a swordfish swam into your heart
what would you do
if a swordfish swam into your heart
would you be starteled
of course you would
so why act suprised that i am
hurt by your moods
why act suprised
a dark cloud descended over the
grey stone buildings of Edinburgh
Patches of blue struggled to peep through
this was reflected on the silver table
by the empty mug and muffin wrapper
and i sit pushing the crumbs around
thinking about you
for a moment
my heart stopped beating
cause i thought that you were looking
from outside the window x3
but it was just a little boy staring
