Story Behind The Song

While working part time at a French restaurant, I told a friend that I wanted to write a song that sounded like a French "cafe" song, and I thought perhaps it should somehow have food as part of the theme. This friend gave me the idea to make the song seem like it was about food, but really it was all symbolic of a lusty relationship. Eventually, it evolved into being one big double entendre, where every line sounds like it is about a relationship or affair, but really each line is meant to be representative of food, specifically the ingredients in my favorite French recipe, ratatouille.
