Biography
David Baumgarten is a songwriter based in Atlanta, GA, with a rich background in creating music for television and various philanthropic projects. His journey in the music industry began in 1989 in Turkey, amidst the country's push for EU integration and challenges with copyright laws. This experience honed his skills in navigating complex creative landscapes.
Surviving cancer, a near-drowning, and a near-fatal motorcycle accident, alongside living in four countries and traveling to nearly 50, have deeply influenced his music, infusing it with a unique perspective on life and resilience. These experiences shape his artistic vision and fuel his commitment to humanitarian efforts.
David is the visionary behind two impactful non-profit events that have collectively raised approximately $400,000 for the American Cancer Society. Concert2Cure featured 25 bands, including the acclaimed Arrested Development, and Riding to the Moon involved a grueling 14,000-mile motorcycle ride to Argentina. Both initiatives showcased his ability to merge music with advocacy, bringing communities together for a cause.
Currently, David leads a family firm in Atlanta, yet he remains deeply engaged with music. He is often found composing new melodies into a voice recorder while exploring his neighborhood, continually drawing inspiration from his surroundings and personal experiences. His work not only reflects his diverse life but also his unwavering passion for music and making a difference.
