Bio
SUBCURRENT BIO
Subcurrent is a multitude of elements and their dynamic interrelations. There is a force driving and sustaining our mental activity focused on questioning what is possible. This exertion results in a deep felt emotion flowing steadily to the core of what is life. With music as our tool to transcend time each element strives to evolve, generate ideas, and reflect culture becoming apart of something greater than itself.
Subcurrent hails from the small town of Gadsden, AL. All four members went to the same high school and performed together in one form or another. Jamey, Jeremy, and Josh were all in the school marching band. Jay, Jeremy, and Josh were in the school jazz band. All members also were in rock bands outside of school. Jamey and Jeremy were in Grey Tuesday while Jay and Josh were in Porcelain Gods. The worlds collided when Jeremy contacted Josh to collaborate on a piece of music for a wedding, soon after a cover band emerged. Mozaik Salvo had moderate success but had members of the band unhappy since more energy was being channeled into playing cover songs than writing original music. After a reprioritization, drummer change (picking up Jamey), and a new focus on original material Subcurrent was born. Subcurrent has just released its first CD “Life In Ones And Zeros” and plans to start performing to support this CD. Subcurrent is currently performing material that will be a part of a second CD. Much effort has gone into performing our original music so that each song is conveyed both musically and visually.
