The Music Tarot - Lorie Madsen

My name is Lorie Madsen, and I'm an independent recording artist who is turning tarot cards into songs. I collaborate with my producer, Brian Daly, of DNA Music Labs in Madison, WI. Together, we are crafting an innovative collection of dreamy songs with elements of pop, folk, rock, and synth musical genres. Each song represents a different tarot card in the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition upright position.

Described as "devastatingly beautiful" by Sheila Shigley and Kate Archer Kent (2023) on Wisconsin Public Radio's The Morning Show, the songs are "so open, so honest, so beautifully produced" they present "like a diary with music in a way, telling someone's journey."

I knew from a young age that I was meant to write songs. However, I have continuously faced adversity. My disabilities victimized me for decades until I learned my purpose. I realized that my two greatest passions - music and mysticism - were meant to be combined. With tarot cards as my guide, I am healing from the traumas of my life while also creating something extraordinary.

The Music Tarot officially launched in 2022 and has been slowly building a following of listeners and fans. I chose to publicize my journey of well-being and creation because shared pain is lessened, shared joy is increased, and shared healing is peace.
