A collaboration between neighbors, roommates and longtime friends, TINY RIOTS formed July 2010 as the heat of Summer romance burned out. Lead singer Mike Lau now sings perfectly in song what he could not find in love. His determination to form a band that could channel his emotions led him to acquire the talents of neighbors Patrick Rolain (guitar) and drummer/producer Dan Stoffels. Once Mike asked lifelong friend Alex Bruder (guitar) to join the group, Tiny Riots was born.
Kerri Mack (formerly of Chicago pop/rock outfit 1997) performs harmony vocals and keyboards for Tiny Riots. Although she is not currently with the band, she co-wrote and performed on the latest record: Platonic. Kerri currently writes and performs as Megadeft, in Madison, WI, occasionally backed by members of Tiny Riots.

"Tiny Riots were at real risk of limiting the listening potential of their latest release by naming it Love In The Autumn Leaves and striving to, in their own words, present the "soothing sounds of fall." But fortunately, relationship-fueled mopiness knows no season and vocalists Michael Lau and Kerri Mack's delicately heartbreaking harmonies make songs like "Love" into beautiful bummers, while shimmering guitars and a steady ambling rhythm section recall post-emo touchstones like The Get Up Kids and Karate.
