After spending four years in an Air Force Band, Tom Lazarich received his Bachelor of Arts degree and music teaching credential from California State University, Northridge. He taught instrumental music at the junior high and elementary school levels from the early nineteen eighties through the mid nineteen nineties at which time he started devoting his full time to composition. He has studied with several notable woodwind teachers and performed in numerous groups ranging from classical to jazz. As well as his published concert band works, he has also produced his own jazz CD. As in all of his concert band compositions, it is evident that his years of working with young musicians and school bands has given him a thorough understanding of their wants and needs. Born March 12, 1948, he is a fifth generation Californian.
