Tony DeSimone - Biography
A Pandora and Triple A recording artist, with three released CDs, Tony has licensed several songs with Tinderbox Music, Perpetual Music Group and Broadjam Music Inc including "Afterthought (I Don't Want To Be)", "As We Go Round the Sun", "Easy Love", "The Line on My Horizon" and "The Second Time Around".
For live performances, Tony can perform either as a solo artist or with his full band or any combination therein. His performance credits include the the Millennium Music Conference (2012 and 2013), Cape May Singer Songwriter Conference (2012 and 2013), numerous wineries and festivals including Sharott Winery, Heritage Winery, Silver Decoy Winery and the Bethel Woods Harvest Festival as well as Hard Rock Cafe (Philly and the World Cafe Live (Philly).
Tony's passion for music started at a very young age when he began playing drums. This passion led him to studying music and earning a degree in Jazz Performance from Temple University as a percussionist. While studing music, Tony also spent his time playing in numerous bands in the Philadelphia area experimenting in several musical genres from pop to progressive rock which gave him the musical versatility and style that is evident in his music today. Tony's most notable early music collaboration was playing and recording with Scott McGill, guitar virtuso, in the progressive jazz fusion band, The Hand Farm.
After leaving the Hand Farm, Tony established himself as both a Physicist/Rocket Scientist and a Marathoner while taking a break from the music scene.
Today Tony is working with Grammy Award winning producer Anthony Newett. In 2010 he recorded his second EP, "Going to California", and won awards in Mike Pinder's song wars competition. From his upcoming 2011 release, "the Second Time Around", Tony has been selected to appear on the the Alternate Root's Valentine's Day Sampler CD and has also won the Grand Prize in the Airomee Wind / Skope Magazine feature artist competition.
Tony's music can be heard on radio stations both nationally and internationally - from the US to Paris to Australia. Tony is also performing live shows as both a solo artist and with his accompanying band numerous venues in the Philadelphia, New York and New Jersey areas.
