Van Preston: Nashville Singer-So
Born and raised in a small Arkansas town near Memphis Tennessee, Van Preston is the new model of music business success. Despite being unsigned in the US, she has had five top-20 country songs in Europe and three Top 40 songs on secondary U.S. Country radio stations (newmusicweekly.com). Her debut album was nominated 2007 Country Album of the Year in Europe by the European CMA. Her music is represented in Europe on Universal Records-France. Van has a 'song cut' titled "Without You" on the Big Machine Records Act "Steel Magnolia" full album, slated for January 2011 release. Van has placed in several Songwriting Competitions, including twice in the John Lennon and the NSAI Song Contests, as well as the UK Songwriting Contest. With reviews/ features in "Country Weekly", "Maverick", "Performing Songwriter" as well as a 2009 Video appearance on CMT, her musical acclaim is mounting. Van has opened for many Top Artists including James Taylor, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, and Martina McBride. She has headlined EuroDisney-Paris, numerous European festivals, toured Australia twice, and has played legendary clubs including the now-defunct CBGB's in NYC.
