About Guns & Glamour
Take a set of twins that are male and female with an underground slash commercial appeal, sprinkle the sickest punch lines and the craziest flows, add the most raunchiest attitude combined with the best all around persona, throw in the hottest looks and the sexiest aura --- mix them all together and the end result would probably look and sound a lot like Guns & Glamour.
Hollywood (born Darryl Alexander) and Beloved (born Diandra Alexander) grew up together in NYC but adopted their own lifestyles. Beloved who’s a high school dropout gained interest to the streets with total disregards of obeying her parents. Mean while, Hollywood choose to stay in school and not get caught up in the game. Beloved used to sit at the kitchen table writing gangsta raps and poems. Soon her twin adopted her creative writing trait, but Hollywood took a different approach. He focused on catchy hooks and an undeniable flow. Together they merged their talents and lifestyles to create Guns & Glamour a group that appeals to both Hip Hop and Pop audiences.
In 1998, the brother and sister twin duo Guns & Glamour started putting their lyrics from their rap books on top of beats and started to create the unique sound. During that time, their cousin Chi-Ali started to recreate his image and was working in a studio based in Atlanta, GA. Chi-Ali passed on a CD with their songs to Terry Ross of Noontime Recordings. After hearing the music Terry flew the duo to Atlanta, GA and started working with an unknown but well-known producer today --- Jazze Pha. They recorded an array of songs and signed with Noontime, but they were shelved - unsure how to market a group whose fourteen years of age and reciting explicit lyrics.
After a few years of performing at club venues, show casing for people like Shakir Stuart (Def Jam), Antonio “LA” Ried (Universal) and Barry Hankerson (Blackground) and appearing on local mix tapes they rapidly gained exposure in the underground circuit. Hollywood and his best friend Nyron Chin-Sang formed their own entertainment companies titled Divinaire Entertainment and Fame And Stardom.com an unsigned talent resource and self-promoting website. Hollywood also started to produce while Beloved wrote lyrics for the songs he produced. In 2005 Divinaire Entertainment released a mix CD that featured remixes of hit hip-hop songs with Guns & Glamour vocals. They also took time to educate themselves about the music industry.
They never left and now their ready to take off with the debut of their freshman album: Both Sides To The Story. Schedule for release on Divinaire Entertainment/Woodroq Records in 2006.
