I want my music to be immediately meaningful and moving, and, at the same time, to be layered to captivate upon multiple listenings. I work to include individuals in my songs who might not typically show up in pop music: members of the LGBT community, addicts, the elderly, those who deal with illness and with psychological obstacles. I donate the profits from my music to LGBT causes.
