Attic Project Bio

The Attic Project are a four piece punk/ reggae band from Leeds. They were formed in early 2004 by CJ Pote (guitar), Andrew Pote (drums) and Mike Akers vocals), as a continuation of their punk rock band Attic, who were popular on he North Yorkshire gig scene at the beginning of the decade. New member Andy Walton came in on bass guitar, leaving former bassist/ vocalist Mike to concentrate on his vocals. In the two years since forming The Attic Project have accomplished plenty. They quickly built up a following on the Leeds scene, and secured endorsement from Sebor Absinth. (The most prominent absinth dealer and importer in the UK). From there, the band embarked on a whirlwind UK tour in CJ’s old Volvo, financed entirely by themselves. By December 2005, the band was ready to record it’s debut EP. The Attic Project went into the studio with Led Zeppelin engineer Stuart Epps to produce How’s My Driving?, a five track compilation that was released in March 2006, at a gig organised by Leeds City Council as part of the bands prize for winning the Leeds Bright Young Things competition. The EP was well received, and helped the band secure the opening slot on Ska Saturday at Badfest 2006, the punk and ska festival founded by Buster Bloodvessel of Bad Manners infamy. Over the last few months we've had interest from a range of record labels and promoter's and been included on the soundtrack for award winning independent film 'In a Man's World,' by Scottish Director Lee Hutcheon. www.scottishmovie.com
