Thanks for listening to my tune Quicker Than Lightening & for your comments! Dan
Hi Roy, We met awhile back and I sent you an email just now through Broadjam and was hoping you could read it if I let you know. Thanks, Dan
Dan, Thanks for the note. I will respond via email. Hope all is well....Best, Roy
Thanks Roy! I hope things are great with you too, Dan
Hi Susan! What a cool song 'This Time' is! Your voice sounded great. A bit different from your others...sounded just a bit like the artist Adele (I think that's her name). Keep up the great work!
Thank you, Dan! It's part of the project, "Teddy and Me". I'm writing and recording a song a week for one year. I'm just starting my 11th week. Think that I am going to take this one into the studio. My very best and thanks again!! Susan BG
Hi Dan! Loved "Eyes That Taste"! 5 stars!! My best, SusanBG
Hi Susan, Such a wonderful song "Do You Love Me Now". Congratulations on the placement.
Placement... Hold on, Dan... I have to check!
... Sorry Dan! Now, I know what you're talking about. Yeah, I was really excited about that...Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words!
Great job Helen! I talked with you last int the 50/90 challenge. Hope all's well.
Hey... see you this 50/90? H
Wonderful music and singing Susan! Congratulations on the placement. I've not had time to place on b.j. but it'd be cool to see what you think of mine. I have a few older on here. Let me know if interested. :)
Hi Dan! Thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate it! I really love "2U" and "All Aligned", and I wish you lots of success with your music! My very best, Susan
Hi Sharon, nice music & voice. I listened to a number of your songs. Keep up the good work! I haven't posted songs on b.j. for a while. Just performed with a great female artist and thought I'd see if you may be interested in some of mine. I'll give you my direct email if so. Let me know. (My songs on b.j. are a bit older.)
Sure Dan. Send me a private message then. Thanks for the compliment. Look forward to hearing from you.
Congratulations on your BBC ad UK Country Radio news! Great job and always wishing you the best, Dan.
Hi Dan, thank you for your support, it means a lot. Hope you are well, take care, Melsi
Dan, Your story is one of remarkable courage, and inspiration. I am deeply moved by what you are doing, and your music is beautiful. There is a wonderful innocence that is priceless. Your statement that music links many different areas of the brain, and even in broken minds is so profoundly true. I have used music to integrate the mind of a multiple personality patient with over thirty separate personalities with great results. I have worked with those with autism, and with brain anomalies and know the power of music and other artistic endeavours. I am so glad I had an opportunity to cross paths with you, and am happy you made yourself known to me in return. Please keep in touch. Your strength and your music is a gift to all who hear it. All the best to you Dan. John Rose
So good to hear from you Dan. Sometimes it is hard to define my line of work, as I have held a number of positions over the course of my working life. I have always held steady work to pay the bills, and support my family, but my life work has never provided too much in the way of material wealth. Following a series of traumatic events that began with the brutal murder of my best friend and his family when I was 14 years old, I endeavoured to understand the nature of life, death, and whatever lies beyond the realm of understanding. I am currently writing a book on dear death experiences, and mystical experiences. I began playing music as a way to express what couldn't be expressed in words, and in the process, ended up working with people with psychological, and physical/neurological issues such as autism, multiple personality disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorder, etc. I have been fortunate to know some truly remarkable people over the course of my life. I currently work as an audio engineer, and stagehand, along with playing, and recording music whenever I can. I have a family which is most important. Other things I have a deep interest in are wilderness awareness, and survival. I teach classes to both adults, and children on how to survive in the wilderness. Along with this, I serve as a volunteer with a search and rescue team here in Kentucky. My life is rich and full, and I am blessed with remarkable people, and experiences. I battle with post traumatic stress disorder myself so there are bad days sometimes, but through music, the beauty of nature, the wonderful people in my life, and the occasional treasure of a glimpse into the eternal, unfathomable essence of God, for lack of a better term, I manage to live a good life. I could go on, but I should save some for another day. Enough about me. Sounds like you are really doing some great things, and building a wonderful foundation for your music. I look forward to listening to more of your music. There is a really unique, special, and beautiful spirit in your work. I look forward to listening to the rest of your posts, and other music you create. I wish you all the best in all you do, and hope you will keep in touch. I am moved by your persistence, and courage to overcome difficulty in your life. I better close for now, but please do keep in touch, and I hope you have a wonderful day. Take care, John
Thank you so much for the comments. That song has a lot of meaning for me. Baylee k
Thanks Dan. I am glad to hear that you are still with us, even though there are challenges for you. I am very small for my age and have been made fun of all my life. My mom raised me tough, but that song is a way for me to tell everyone it's ok to be different. Thanks Baylee k
If you ever are made fun of, realize first that you are far greater in size than those who try to hurt you. Think of how little a mind must be for someone to think they have to hurt others to feel big about themselves. Just looking the other way shows a such greater stature. You have been given talent as well. Use that always to inspire yourself and others whenever possible. Music can do wonders I believe. Follow the good always. Dan
Hi Kate, Thanks for the nice review of 2u (Have Some Fun)! It was recorded to sound as though it were at a party. Seemed to fit the publisher's bill I guess. Younger gen must want a dif take. Hope all is well in you work.
Dan, Rainbow at the end of the Storm is just so pretty. Your vocals are so gentle and clear, lyrics from the heart. What a lovely little song to start my day with. Wishing you well, Melsi
I am sure when you take the plunge you will have some lovely reviews, we all get a little protective of our 'babies', but it is nice to share them. Follow your heart and post them when you are ready. One thing with musicians and writers, they truly appreciate the hard work and emotion that goes into putting a song together so hopefully if you do get reviews, they will be to help you and not to be mean for means sake!! Take care Dan, from across the pond, Melsi
Thanks Melsi, always the best for you too! Dan (oh, Roy Elkins gave a good review to the Rainbow song. He's from across the pond too but started Broadjam here. :) )
fun clothes--i got a chuckle out of it--HA!----i sometimes forget--this music thing is supposed to be fun--jimmy buffet thinks so too-see ya-joe.
BIG D, KEEP IT UP, YOU'LL GET THERE, GREAT JOB, AND THANKS FOR THE GREAT REVIEW ON " I'M GOING HOME " LOU PENTA { THE CALIFORNIA COWBOY }
Dan. Thank you for the reply to my review of 'All Alligned'. I was saddened to hear of your health problems. The fact you are producing such good stuff in such difficult circumstances is a real credit to you. Good luck.
I listened to a bit more of your music. Out on the Road reminds me a bit of the Moody Blues with the accent and combo. Mandi has a nice voice too. Good job on all!
Thank you for your comments Dan. Americans in particular seem to like my accent. Maybe I'll find an American wife one day! Your right about Mandi, she is a talented singer. She had a recording contract with EMI some years ago. She gives me singing lessons each Wednesday, but I prefer to write the songs rather than perform them. I'm glad you are on the mend and I wish you every success with your music.
Hope you had a great birthday Roy! I put a birthday song on broadjam titled '2u (Have Some Fun)'. Have a listen and let me know what you think! I was wondering too, you had said you were going to review my songs a couple weeks ago after we talked by phone. I can't seem to find your reviews. Being new here, where do I find them? Thanks, Dan
Dan, Thanks for the note and the bday wish. I am a little behind in reviewing. Should be caught up soon and you will see them posted here.....Best, Roy
clicktrack keeps rhythm going, it keeps through the song while you play and u must wear phones to hear it (so it does not get into Mic when you record) . u can use anything that produces steady and constant tone (click).
Hi Lenny, Thanks for the great review. Good suggestions but I'm not sure what clicktrack is. This song was done without any tempo cue if that's what clicktrack does. It was kind of done quickly on the fly for someones b'day. I was thinking of putting some percussion on it but didn't want to sound like I was banging on the bongos like a chimpanzee!
Oh, I listened to some of your music. Nice and relaxing. Be good for a vacation or cruise.
Hey Chaz, Thanks for the feedback. I've heard others think well of my stuff too. I appreciate your comment though. I'm not sure the genre you like best but I do a variety of music, Hard rock to gentle stuff. Just wondering, do you think I need a little more cowbell?
I like your sense of humor bro! christopher walken..SNL episode with Blue Oyster Cult..a classic! keep on writin'! chaz
Thank you for your review of Money and Vegas. Just to explain; I know people in America use dollars. The mention of 'Pesos' is a metaphor. A bit like an American saying 'I'm down to my last penny' when pennies are used in the UK, or an English person might say 'Another day another dollar'. Steely Dan used a similar metaphor in Doctor Wu when they talked about borrowing Piastres in Miami.
Thanks for explaining! Keep the good songs coming!
Thanks Dan. Good luck with your music.
Hi Dan Thanks for the great review of ( In your moment ) this is what makes it all worth while Keep rocking and all the best Pete.
You bet Peter, Keep up the good output! See what you think of mine if you like. I think you'll like 'Rainbow at the End of the Storm'. Good luck to you!
Hello Dan, thank you very much for your review of Can You. I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment. Thank you again, Melsi
