"Invisible", very powerful insight. Wonderful vocal passion....
Thank you
"I Want To Know".....beautiful vocal.
Hi Steven--Thanks for the ratings for I Want To Know. We were very lucky Sondra could sing the song for us. She's no longer singing demos. I agree she has a beautiful voice.
I listened to many of your songs, all very nice. Just to many to comment on each....
Thumbs up on "Lifeline"!
Thank you!!
Hi Bill, thanks for your review of "Rita"... I've taken your comments to heart, the song has always baffled me as to what to do with it. Still a work in process.... I went on to listen to some of your works and I respect your opinion as what I've listened to is very good. "I Know", go for it!
Thank you for your review of "Keep It Moving".... I just had to comment that I was way impressed that you came so close to the title you suggested in your review as "Moving On". The song was in fact inspired by an aspiring love that I had to forget, I was hoping the emotion came out in the piece.
Good - have you heard my song
Nice job on "Keep it moving " Steve! Catnip=+=
A young person playing thoughtful music and meaningful lyrics....... you could be our next John Mayer.
Thanks for the kind words Steven. Although it is hard to imagine another John Mayer.
"They Ought To Write A Song...." is such a masterpiece of lyric and music.... I'd love to hear the original 2004 version again....
Performance and production is awesome for all your songs! I suggest including the lyrics on your page for each song. Your poetry is stellar.....
Thanks Steven! It would be pretty hard to be unhappy with your feedback. I must say I can't accept the credit for the production though; I was lucky to have a top notch producer. I'll get on with getting the lyrics up. Thanks for listening. And again, really great guitar work!
Hi Kate, thank you for your constructive review of "Keep It Moving". I battled with the same issues as I wrote and recorded the song... it's too long, and the guitar is too raspy! Perhaps I can cut the long rhythm intro, it doesn't seem to be setting up the mood as I was hoping it would. I appreciate your time and opinions!
You are so welcome! Glad to meet you on Broadjam!
thanks for the great review of my spoken word song. Hope you took the time to check it out on my profile so you could learn that it was a translation of the rather famous song 'O Fortuna' which is used all the time in sporting events, commercials and movies. I did it because no one knows what the song really means because it is written in latin. Thanks again.
Steven, thank you for reviewing "Sweet Margarite",my attempt to have sung it in brazilian Portuguese.. Your review was more than kind.. So,I went to your songs and I put a like and added "Rita" to some of my playlists..Great 5/4 feel and I believe a 6/8 feel.. Super cool!! Stay safe Ron
Steven, thank you for the kind review if Hana II. Marc
I just reviewed one of your songs, then went on to check your channel out. I love you, man. Some great songs.... "Big Tips", awesome original! "100 Tears..." totally cool. You do some great work
Thank you for checking it out. This is quite rewarding for me as someone who has fallen through the cracks for decades, LOL! You're very kind!
Sam, my friend, I was hoping you didn't take my comment as hokey, empty flattering BS. Your music and poetry are really good, I instantly liked everything I listened to. A natural talent with easily chartable songs in my opinion. The majority of us have also fallen through the cracks over the years, however, you shouldn't be included in that group!
It feels good, at 68, to be a survivor so THANK YOU, bro! You have no idea how rewarding it is for me to have a shared appreciation for music on this level. Here's to you having success with your music. I'm no big deal in the business, but if I can do anything, let me know.
Ace Up Steve! Catnip
thanks for your very kind and thorough review of All You Are. Everything is so subjective - many who have reviewed it want the vocals up front further, while you want it back a bit - so in the end, you just mix as best you can and hope to find that sweet spot - again, thanks for taking the time and spending the effort - it means a lot!
Hartmut! Walking Rabbit Yeah! Catnip
Hi Patrick! Thanks a Lot Best Hartmut
Thank you for your review of "Sans Pepto". Your comments were right on. The song is actually unfinished as I'd hoped to find a lyricist to write a melody. After so many attempts to finding someone for this task, I decided the instrumentation actually could stand on its own, but, yes, the drums ARE computer software and I've been lazy in correcting them. Perhaps your review will inspire me to step back and finally fix them. Best Wishes....Thanks!
Hi Steven, I am very pleased that you take my comment positively. I also use drum software. :) I like your guitar playing very much. Best wishes for the new year -- Hartmut
Nice***
Steve! Just listened to Blue Bosa Nova! Nice!Makes me want to have a glass of lemonade and relax! Catnip
Steven, Thank you so much for the awesome review of "Going Back to Where I've Never Been". I certainly appreciate the time you took listening. As for your songs, I have listened to all you have here on Broadjam and there is not one song I dislike. You are a great composer, arranger, and musician. I love your style. If you ever want to collaborate let me know.
Dear Steven Furr.....just reviewed your composition, "Dreaming Blue Bossa".....this is GIANT!! Tremendous song Sir!!! If you have a chance, please have a listen to some of our Pop Jazz stuff...you might enjoy it!! M & A Corey
Steven, thank you so much for your review of Omni Play. As for your question of where this was recorded, I recorded the midi and saxes at my home studio and recorded the drums and percussion at Studio Center Miami. It was mixed by co produced, mixed and mastered by Gary Vandy at Studio Center.
Hi Liz, checking in on your site this evening. So many great songs have disappeared from your list, but so glad to see "Hang On" and "With All That I Am" are still there. Two songs that nail my senses every time!
HI Kate, any criticism of Preachers Wife was purely because I'm trying to stay with Broadjam's suggestion of offering usable critique. The song is perfect! I went on to listen to some of your other material and am just fascinated at your talent. I have trouble keeping up with my measly 13 songs, it's hard to comprehend having 188 as you do. Best wishes!
Thanks steven. I am working on a new motivational cd for kids called I Think I Can. Should be released in early 2017. I have to give all the glory to God. My talent is a gift from Him.
Thank you for your encouragement. It means a lot to me!
Hi Steven, thanks SO much for the detailed and encouraging review of "Out of the Gaze"! It means so much to get that kind of feedback. (I've put a new version up with a new bridge added if you're up for a listen). I'm checking out your music--man you are an ace jazz soloist--you've got that George Benson thing down!! Best regards ~Jeff
Hello there Steven, I guess I figured it out. You listened to PW Blues. Yep, I'm a country preacher's wife and the stories are true, right down to the bunnies, okra and hand me down clothes. Thanks for liking the song. You were right about the choir. I went to the choir director at one of our predominantly black high schools and she rounded me up a small group of singers to come in and give me that "black gospel feel." This is a very old, vintage recording...if we did it over, I am sure it would be better. But it's part of my vintage musical history. Take care and thanks again, Mrs. Kate
What a God given talent!
Hello Steven, thanks! What song(s) did you listen to? God bless you! Mrs. Kate
Thank you Steven for your review of Amazing Grace! It's my favorite track on my album and I'm glad you liked it!
Hi Steven, Thank you for listening to and commenting on my song, "Love Is Here To Stay." I really appreciate the in-depth critique you offered. Brenda
Halie, I fell in love with the original version of "...song about that" when you first posted it. Absolutely consider posting the original. I'd love to hear it again.
