Josh Richards became a singer/songwriter in February 2006 though he's been writing songs for the past couple of years.
He entered the UK songwriting contest in 2006 and 3 of his songs made it to the semi finals and from then on he has never looked back.

He has made the top 10 in the UK and also has been at number 1 in Cyprus here on Broadjam; thanks to yourselves for your support.
He's based in Cyprus writing full time.

Josh Richards

Josh Richards was born in Leicestershire, England where his musical roots began at the tender age of 5 years old. He grew up in an era of influential artists such as Elvis, Cliff Richards, Showaddywaddy and The Beatles. Josh learnt to play the cornet at 7 years old following his fathers footsteps who performed earlier in his life in International Brass Bands. Over the years Josh has studied many other instruments such as the piano, acoustic, electric and bass guitar and drums. At the age of 14, Josh’s first taste of melodious presentation came as the singer/drummer for his high school band ‘Bongo’s Beat’ to which was the beginning of singing & song writing at a more serious level for him.

Over the years, he maintained composing melodies and lyrics as a leisurely pursuit only. He wrote songs as a way of expressing his emotions and soon it began to take over his life in which he seized the intrepid moment to follow his dream of becoming a serious singer/songwriter in February 2006. He takes pride in writing & producing music with strong lyrical content and heartfelt melodies conveying stories that people can relate to through his own life experiences.

Josh entered the UK Song writing Contest in 2006 and 3 of his songs successfully made it to the Semi Finals giving him the confirmation, the influence & inspiration that his talent is on the right track. He has made the Top 10 in the UK on Broadjam and also has been at Number 1 in Cyprus on Broadjam for many weeks.

After giving his full time job in Hydraulic Sales, Josh decided to base himself in Cyprus and is currently writing and recording with the world famous Tony Hallinan in his studio in Larnaca. (www.tonyhallinan.net)

Tony says “Sometimes I just don’t know how Josh comes up with the songs; they are so true to life and I love working with him, I’ve worked with many artists but Josh has that something extra that I’ve never seen before”.

On the April 12th, 2007 he hit the press in Cyprus ( The Voice ) with the news of his first Demo CD which is due to be released for music producers and corporations alike. He is also planning to engage in performances around the island sharing his flare and passion for singing, writing and performing.
