Steve grew up in Chicago and began playing the drums at 4-years old. At age 5, he went to his first two concerts to see The Beatles live, at Comiskey Park and the Chicago Amphitheater - he was hooked on music from then on. In the ensuing years he taught himself to play the piano and began fiddling around on the guitar and formed his first rock band in 6th grade, playing at the Friday night church sock hops.

After High School, he joined the hard-rock band As It Is and the journey playing clubs and bars in and around Chicago began. Steve played all the major clubs in Chicago from 1978 until 1997 as a drummer and then keyboardist and lead vocalist in a couple of different bands. Taking time away from music in 1997 to run his business was a willing, but reluctant choice.

If you ask him, he will tell you he still loves, and misses. playing live with a band.
