Story Behind The Song
Imagining a scenario where lovers deal with the pain and frustration of not being able to see their relationship to its fullest.
Song Description
Subjects are lovers who find themselves separate by either distance or current obligations but desperately are in love and long for permanent physical connection. They are together for one of their limited and rare encounters at a special or even secret place or town where they can sneak and meet and decide to lessen the pain of inevitable separation and goodbye by imagining that place can be their permanent home together.... The lyrics set the descriptive stage for this dream of where they could be and where they might live and how wonderful it would be. The lyrics are a call from one lover to the other to succumb to the dream without fear and to know that something, someday, waits for them, because as the chorus states "to love is to believe."

Dream With Me --
(All rights reserved, words and music ©2023 Barry Thompson, registered BMI)
VERSE 1) Sit here my dear - look around and see a dream
you and I - together in this scene
imagine we're done - with what we've come from to appear here and declare love won.
CHORUS - Dream with me, let's melt painlessly
and know something waits for us -
it must ---- it must - so trust just trust
in a dream we'll never leave - to love is to believe
VERSE2) We'd watch the streets - from that high window because inside - would be our home
where every morning - I'd be up before you - touch your face gently - you'll never wake alone
REP CHORUS
(Bridge-) when autumn colors all these leaves and they're dancing carelessly
we'll join them twirling in the wind
see that garden in the square - we'd spend springtime blooming there
and cold days we've braved will never come again
Verse 3) Lean onto my shoulder - wide open the wonder sit close and dream with me, won't you try
see we're perfect here - all is finally fair no last kiss - no goodbye
REPEATCHORUS
dream with me - let's melt painlessly
I'm here to hold you while you try we're perfect here all is finally is fair
in a dream we'll never leave to love is to believe to love is to believe to love is to believe
