Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song as I find most of my memories of my childhood are of warm sunny days. Now I am older I realise that I was collecting 'honey' that would last me for a lifetime.
Song Description
I wrote this song for an upbeat, happy collection of songs to raise money for childrens' education in a South African orphanage.

Lyrics
I'm Collecting Honey Like The Bees
In my mind
I step back into my childhood days
And I find
They are lit up by sunshine's rays
In my mind.
In my mind
Days of summer are warm and long
And I find
They are filled with sweet bird-song
In my mind.
I'm running through the meadows
In my memories
Building dens in cornfields on my knees
Laughing loudly climbing friendly trees
I'm collecting honey like the bees.
In my mind
I step back to times of fun and play
And I find
That a gentle breeze would blow each day
In my mind
I'm running through the meadows
In my memories
Building dens in cornfields on my knees
Laughing loudly climbing friendly trees
I'm collecting honey like the bees.
In my mind
Days of summer are warm and long
And I find
They're foundations I laid firm and strong
In my mind
I'm running through the meadows
In my memories
Building dens in cornfields on my knees
Laughing loudly climbing friendly trees
I'm collecting honey like the bees.
I'm running through the meadows
In my memories
Building dens in cornfields on my knees
Laughing loudly climbing friendly trees
I'm collecting honey like the bees.
