Never Be Running On Empty

Story Behind The Song

This song originates from a few years back when I worked in an NHS Hospital. I loved my patients, my ward, my nurses but was always in trouble with the management because I believed in an encouraging rather than a bullying style of management.

Song Description

I wrote this song to encourage and inspire a person who feels that 'they are losing their soul' to maintain a job, position etc., to hang on in there. To listen to their conscience and do what is right for them.

Lyrics

Some say I don't have much
Well I'll tell you I've got plenty
I think some people talk too much
It's hit and miss
But I know this...

Some think that I'm a soft touch
Well I'll tell you fools are plenty
I say some people think too much
Life's up and down
Smile or frown
I'll never be running on empty

Ooh, Ooh Ooh,
I'll never be running on empty
Ooh, Ooh Ooh,
I'll never be running on empty
Ooh, Ooh Ooh,
I'll never be running on empty
Ooh, Ooh Ooh,
I'll never be running
I'll never be running on empty

Some think that they can buy me
Bend my thoughts to their own for money
I say some people spend too much
And still they fail
I'm not for sale

Some people want to own me
Practise their power, control me
I think some people want too much
But I've no need
To share their greed
I'll never be running on empty

Ooh, Ooh Ooh,
I'll never be running on empty
Ooh, Ooh Ooh,
I'll never be running on empty
Ooh, Ooh Ooh,
I'll never be running on empty
Ooh, Ooh Ooh,
I'll never be running
I'll never be running
Never be running on empty

Never be running on empty
Never be running
Never be running
Never be running on empty
Never be running on empty
Never be running
Never be running

Some say I don't have much
Well I'll tell you I've got plenty
I think some people talk too much
Some think that I'm a soft touch
Well I'll tell you fools are plenty
I say some people think too much
