Story Behind The Song
I was at a songwriting workshop and was given the prompt fishing. I had an hour to write, compose and then had to sing it to other course members. 'Tilly Aldaine' agreed to record it and her vocal has been likened to a young Karen Carpenter.

Lyrics
On The Hook
I'm fishing for ideas looking to find
Diving deep to where it reminds me of you,
Avoid the fishing lines,
Don't end up on the hook that leads to blue.
I'm fishing for ideas that do not blind,
Diving deep to where I will find points of view
Avoid the fishing lines,
Don't end up on the hook that leads to you.
I'll put on the style
Swim that extra mile
Maybe if I take my time
I won't end up on the line
I'll do what it takes
Learn from my mistakes
Always take a second look
Don't end up on the hook.
I'm fishing for ideas looking to wind,
Diving deep to where I once shined around you
Avoid the fishing lines,
Don't end up on the hook with bones to chew.
I'm reeling in ideas that are unkind,
Diving deep to where I'm resigned to lose you,
Avoid the fishing lines,
Don't end up on the hook, find love anew.
I'll put on the style
Swim that extra mile
Maybe if I take my time
I won't end up on the line
I'll do what it takes
Learn from my mistakes
Always take a second look
Time to start another book
I'll put on the style
Swim that extra mile
Maybe if I take my time
I won't end up on the line
I'll do what it takes
Learn from my mistakes
Always take a second look
Don't end up on the hook.
