Story Behind The Song
While holidaying in Australia I was shocked to discover how large areas of the Great Barrier Reef were dying, blanched white Later in the holiday I attended a talk about how much was being done to reverse the damage. I wrote this song in Alice Springs
Song Description
On a seven week holiday to Australia my husband swam over the Great Barrier Reef while I sat in a glass bottomed boat We were both shocked and dismayed to see the large areas of coral that were dying and colourless, Lat3er in the holiday we had flown from Brisbane to Alice Springs where we attended several lectures on conservation work that was being carried out to reverse the damage It left me feeling more positive that there was hope and that it was not too late to take action - yet. I wrote this song in Alice Springs

Lyrics
Woke up this morning
Put my feet on the ground
Woke up this morning
Took a look around
Raised my eyes, raised them to the sky
Greys turned to blue now
The cloud's scudding by
I feel the glory, feel a bright'ning somehow
Sparks of hope are glowing now
But the seas are rising
We'll soon pay the cost
No compromising
All could be lost
We must search for our own solution
Begin a 'Save The World' revolution
I feel the glory, feel a bright'ning somehow
Sparks of hope are glowing now
The ice is melting
The sun's causing harm
And we aren't helping
It's time to stay calm
Let in the feeling
Make this world grow
Reuse resources
Turn fast back to slow
I feel the glory, feel a bright'ning somehow
Sparks of hope are glowing now.
There is a future for us to find
And it's there in ev'ry mind.
Woke up this morning
Listened to my heart.
Woke up this morning
Made a new start
Raised my eyes to a rising sky
It's blazing gold now
And the clouds have passed by
I feel the glory it's brighter somehow
Rays of hope are shining now
I feel the glory it's brighter somehow
Rays of hope are shining, shining now
Shining now, shining now
