Story Behind The Song
As a disabled person with a movement disorder, you often see the world around you from the sidelines. You look out the window to the world, or you look into the window of people having fun, dancing, living life in ways you are not able to. Or the world points at you if you try, because you are "disabled".
I often imagine myself as I once was. Able to dance, move, sing, have fun, socialize, work a career, etc. But life changed for me in the blink of an eye.
And now, as I think about what I would want to try to do, I think and think, because my body and brain just won't do what I want them to do. People don't often understand this and can be judgemental. So often, I don't try to dance or socialize. But as I thought about this more and more, I realize this is MY life. If I look odd dancing with my movement disorder or can't stand up enough to do it, I can sit in a chair and move. etc.
Why get stuck in my head thinking about living, when I can just, in the blink of an eye, take that moment and enjoy it to the best of my abilities.
That is where "In the blink of an eye" came from. A dance song, that makes me want to move my body, even if my head tells me I may not be able to. Just get out of your head, and try.
Song Description
Upbeat song about facing your challenges. To just get out of your head and try, in the blink of an eye, just try.
This song is about how you need to get out of your head and try, because it doesn't matter what it looks like to others, it matters that you step out and take that chance to do your best, snoopy dance in a chair if that is what it takes to move. No matter what, life happens, and if you just stop thinking about it, and in the blink of an eye, not worry about it, just try, then you have more to gain than you have to lose.

Lyrics
In The Blink Of An Eye
(Lyrics, Music, Melody, by Pamela Jean Bennett (PJ Bennett)
Let's pick this up a bit
On The outside lookin' in
Just watchin' and waitin'
Knowin' the time is almost right
When you're tired and fadin'
You still keep goin' strong
When you're barely hangin' on
But you're here to be that light
When the darkness is fadin'
(In the blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink )...
Hold on' now, we're not gettin' to the hook that fast,
You're gonna have to wait for it
Come on! Ow!
Stop
Thinking' about it
Get
Out of your head and try
Your noggin' is over there boppin'
Let your feet hit the beat in the blink blink
Blink blink, blink blink ,
Blink blink of an eye
Come' on
Woo!
I'm gonna make you feel
With the beat that's real
It's the heat like the warming of a spinnin' wheel
Make you all a glow
Radiating light
Like a fire fly
Dragon's fire
Flashing spark
In the blink of the light
(Blink blink blink Blink, blink blink Blink blink,
Blink Blink blink blink, Blink blink blink Blink,
Blink blink Blink blink, blink blink blink of an eye)
Stop
Thinkin' about it
Get
Out of your head and try
(come on, come on, come on, come on)
Your noggin' is over there boppin'
Let your feet hit the beat in the blink blink
Blink blink, blink blink ,
Blink blink of an (eye)
I
Want your body
To take over your mind
That, uh uh,
Can you feel it
Taking over inside
(Come on) Stop
Thinking' about it
(Adlibs: blink of an eye, thinking' about it, blink of an eye)
Stop
Thinking about it
Let your feet hit the beat in the blink blink
Blink blink
Blink blink
Blink blink blink
Blink blink blink
Blink blink of an eye
(Blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink,
blink blink blink blink blink blink blink of an eye
