Story Behind The Song

I had written a 70's song "I Promise You" with the old school story of a woman in lost love. A multi grammy winner producer heard it and loved it, but said that today's music needs "girl power". It was interesting to get that critique because when I write in a 70's genre, I try to stick with the mindset of that time as well. So, I thought I would give it a try with a girl power attitude, in a retro way. So instead of waiting on him, the song is about him not holding his breath waiting on her. It was a challenge to write with that sort of attitude but it was fun to step into those shoes that were walking away!

A retro 70's vibe with a modern-day girl power attitude. Saultry and sarcastic. Sometimes enough is enough, and the switch goes off. "Na na na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na na" is very tongue in cheek, and fits the "you're gonna miss me" and I'm happy that you will kind of attitude.
