Story Behind The Song
The boys in my band took the mickey out of me when I obtained a car with Lemon Leather Interior, so I wrote a song about a sad, deluded middle-aged man with similar upholstery.
Song Description
A middle-aged man who should know better still tries it on with young girls in the streets and bars of Soho, needless to say appealing to none of them.

Lyrics
A desperate dusk dims Soho, see the shoal of searching souls
Striding forth our dean street veteran, belly bouncing as he strolls
He cruises 'cross its cobbles, all the faces seem the same
Leering at their painted smiles he feels a fleeting sense of shame
All my motives are ulterior - check out my lemon leather interior
He brags about his assets - a display of alpha wares
Hopes they spot his Beemer key fob, but they giggle at his flares
He buys them endless cocktails, pictures them in his coupe
They accept knowing they'd never date a man with a toupee
All my motives are ulterior - check out my lemon leather interior
If they saw him, back in his day,
They'd have leapt in his escort cabriolet
He staggers to the next bar, bad breath blending with old spice
And despite Travolta dance moves, still no partners are enticed
Delusion takes him over, he won't be going home alone
But by 2 he's on the night bus, no new numbers in his phone
All my motives are ulterior - check out my lemon leather interior
