Story Behind The Song
I had a vacation in 1994, and after that 365 (1 year) - I was hell bent on keeping it clean. This was one of the first songs I wrote and demoed. We performed this at the Pontiac Grill (JC Dobbs) in Philly a few times with Joey Bruno on drums. The session for this live version was done on ADATS, in a studio behind a Doctors office, on Walnut Street. This features Herc Fede (RIP the swirlies guy), with his blazing cool guitar riffs. The late Eddie McGrogan on drums, and Darrin Gardiner on the bass. dB on guitar and vox. Later mixed in CT by Marty at Barking Spider Studio. Not too long ago in the 80s yikes...I was part of the era and times and partied on South Street in Philly. The 80s was like a long endless weekend that went by too quickly.
Song Description
Song goes through a simple thought process and poses some thoughts...later building up into a very cool jam and outro.

Lyrics
People, Places, and Things - ©1996 Douglas Branson ASCAP
They always say things will be fine
living one day, living one day
one day at a time.
It's easier said than done
yes, my friend.
They always said things were different
different in my time
different, yes but the same
Stay away from people places and things.
(2X) Stay away from people, people places and things
gone with your old ways
out with the old days
open your new eyes
look up at blue blue skies
They always say things will be fine
living one day, living one day
one day at a time.
It's easier said than done
yes, my friend.
(2X) Stay away from people, people places and things
gone with your old ways
out with your road rage
open your new eyes
look up at blue blue skies
Spoken: Yeah things were different, different back in those days, but they're still the same. The only thing that's changed is the new high exorbitant prices for getting high. We still have the same old crisis over the same old vices. It's hard to keep your feet on the ground in this town, to keep your nose clean... It can be done.
I see people around me doing it all the time.
