Story Behind The Song
About this song:
Back in ?99 I was in a relationship that didn?t exactly work out. After about a month of dating, my girlfriend stopped talking to me. I new she was going through some hard times with her family, but I never found out what was going on since I was shut out seemingly along with everybody else. In an effort to try and get through to my girlfriend I wrote this song.
The hook comes from the idea that I, like many people, like the rain, but I find I seldom takes the time to enjoy it due to the inconvenience of getting all wet. The irony is I usually end up getting wet anyway.

Lyrics
VERSE 1
I can?t give you the strength; can?t give you the power
And courage keeps on slipping with every passing hour
Words seem so useless and honesty is vain
What does it matter if I can feel your pain?
When you?re running from the rain
CHORUS
When you?re running from the rain
You?re still going to get wet
When you?re running from the pain
You?ll find it won?t go away just yet
When you?re searching for something
Someone you might have been
Everybody?s changing, but you still feel the same
When you?re running from the rain
VERSE 2
You?re still here but I feel like you?ve gone
I?m losing my reasons to keep holding on
What?s it take for you to understand?
I try to give you my heart, but you won?t take my hand
Because you?re running from the rain
CHORUS
BRIDGE
A drop of rain, a seed that grows
It brings forth fruit sweeter than gold
It tastes so good, it makes you strong
Now you look in your heart and the pain is gone
You?re not running from the rain
CHORUS
